Regional Economic Conditions: Minnesota Child Care

Minnesota’s child care businesses continue to face challenges, but a new survey finds that child care centers are doing worse than before.

The Minneapolis Fed and First Children’s Finance have conducted their fifth annual survey of Minnesota child care businesses. The Minneapolis Fed’s Tu-Uyen Tran and Suzanne Pearl, Minnesota Director at First Children’s Finance, hosted a webinar discussing survey results on the sector’s current health, capacity, and challenges, such as competition with school-based programs and liability insurance. Tran also wrote an article recapping survey findings.
