Conversations with the Fed: Urgent problems facing communities during COVID-19

COVID-19 has led to constantly evolving economic challenges for communities in the Ninth District. Examples of those challenges include high unemployment, difficulty repaying debt, and struggling businesses—especially those providing child care.

During a webinar on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, the leaders in the Minneapolis Fed’s Community Development & Engagement Department and the Center for Indian Country Development discussed these challenges and what they mean for our communities. Presenters included Alene Tchourumoff, senior vice president; Roberta Downing, assistant vice president; Casey Lozar, vice president and CICD director; and Ryan Nunn, assistant vice president.
