ThaoMee Xiong

Executive and Network Director Coalition of Asian American Leaders

ThaoMee Xiong is the executive and network director for the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL), where she has led the creation and launch of the CAAL Ignite Fund, a grant program to invest in individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits in the Asian American community. This is the first dedicated fund in the region to increase the visibility, creativity, and innovation of Asian Americans.

Prior to CAAL, she was the director of intergovernmental affairs for City of Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter’s office, leading state and federal legislative initiatives including a $52 million bonding request to build a new bridge. Xiong has also held leadership roles at the Minnesota Department of Health Center for Health Equity and has international experience working for the International Organization of Migration and the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Xiong received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Administration.
