Mikeya Griffin

President and CEORondo Community Land Trust

Mikeya Griffin is president and CEO of the Rondo Community Land Trust, where she leads efforts to repair harm experienced by the Black community in St. Paul’s historic Rondo neighborhood in the wake of the construction of Interstate 94. Griffin advances a vision of reparative development that centers the right of displaced Black families to return to the neighborhood, rebuild wealth, and reclaim community power.

Since becoming the first African American woman to lead the organization, Griffin has transformed the 30-year-old institution into a rapidly growing platform for community ownership and neighborhood stability. Under her leadership, Rondo Community Land Trust has expanded its annual operating budget from $300,000 to more than $9.8 million, raised over $30 million for community development projects, added 160 units of housing, and created 45,000 square feet of commercial space designed to support locally owned businesses.

Having grown up in Rondo, Griffin brings lived experience, neighborhood relationships, and a systems-level understanding of displacement and development. Griffin’s work focuses on building pathways for collective ownership, long-term affordability, and generational wealth building.
