Julie Brekke

Julie Brekke is the president and CEO of Hired. Since joining Hired in 2017 as its third executive director, she has led the organization’s operations, sustainability, and strategic direction, while cultivating a culture that supports impactful, life-changing programs created in, for, and with community.

Prior to joining Hired, Brekke held several leadership roles at Project for Pride in Living, where she advanced mission-driven strategies and organizational growth. With more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Brekke has dedicated her career to expanding access and opportunity for individuals facing barriers to building a stable, hopeful future.

Brekke holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota and has been a Georgetown New Strategies Fellow, Humphrey Policy Fellow, and Results for America Fellow. She is actively engaged in community forums and cross-sector coalitions, including serving as co-chair for WorkWell MN.
