David W. Wilcox

Senior Fellow Peterson Institute for International Economics

David Wilcox has been a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics since August 2019. His current research focuses on the U.S. macroeconomy, monetary policy, and diversity and inclusion, especially in the economics profession.

Prior to joining the Institute, he served as the director of the Division of Research and Statistics, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, from 2011 through the end of 2018. Previously, he had served as deputy director of R&S, assistant secretary for economic policy at the Treasury Department, senior economist on the staff of the Council of Economic Advisers, an economist and senior economist at the Board of Governors, and a member of the board of editors for the American Economic Review.
