Fed creates online database of credit card agreements

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has launched an online database of consumer credit card agreements from more than 300 card issuers. Created as a provision of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act of 2009, the database includes the full text of agreements from credit card issuers that have 10,000 or more accounts. Smaller card issuers, which represent just a fraction of all accounts, are exempt from submitting their agreements for inclusion. The database is intended to help consumers compare the terms of credit card agreements and find a card that meets their needs. The contents of the database are updated on a quarterly basis.
