District scores high in wildlife recreation

District states rank high in spending and participation in hunting, fishing and wildlife watching. Only Alaska and Wyoming scored higher than Wisconsin in per capita spending, and only Alaska topped Montana in the percent of population involved with wildlife activities for 1996.

Together, Americans spent over $100 billion in 1996 on trip and equipment expenses for wildlife recreation.
