Heather Sobrepena is the engagement director for the Center for Indian Country Development (CICD), housed within the Community Development and Engagement Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Heather supports CICD’s mission to advance the economic self-determination and prosperity of Native nations and Indigenous communities by leading CICD’s engagement with tribal leaders and a wide variety of partners across Indian Country. Heather serves as a key point of contact for tribal governments and Native organizations and individuals seeking to apply CICD data and research to economic policy decisions.
Heather has a long history of working in close partnership with tribal governments and Native-owned businesses and organizations. Her prior professional background includes managing a suite of economic development and business resource programs on behalf of the State of Montana. Heather has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Applied Science in business from Montana Technological University.
