Girl Scouts ConnectZ “Financing Your Future”


This personal finance workshop was held both in-house and on-the-road for diverse Girl Scouts ConnectZ troops from underrepresented communities across the state of MN. The girls participated in budgeting and safe credit practice activities, and also learned about U.S. Currency, as well as the roles & responsibilities of the Fed.

Federal Reserve Financial Education Day


Bank staff conducted classroom sessions on budgeting and cyber security, and also provided mentoring for Como Park High School students enrolled in the school’s Academy of Finance program.

Personal Finance Decathlon

The Bank hosted the annual State competition of the Personal Finance Decathlon, in partnership with the MCEE. Teams of MN high school students competed in a case study analysis of a fictional family's financial situation and presented their recommendations to a judges’ panel. The top scoring teams went on to compete in a Quiz Bowl to choose the State Champion.

Economics Challenge

The Bank hosted the annual State competition of the Economics Challenge, in partnership with the MCEE. Teams of students representing high schools across MN competed at both the individual and team level in a series of challenging tests of their economic understanding and reasoning abilities, with the winning team being crowned State Champion.

Urban Economics Challenge

The Bank hosted the inaugural session of the Urban Economics Challenge, in partnership with the Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE). This event was the first of its kind regional economics competition specifically designed for inner-city high school students.
