Executive Director, Opportunity Link, Inc., Havre, MT
Barb Stiffarm became executive director of Opportunity Link in 2009. This non-profit organization assists three Montana reservations and 11 counties in achieving and sustaining independence and prosperity. Ms. Stiffarm’s background is in economic development and advocacy for native and non-native communities, and she has held positions as a tribal planner for the Fort Belknap Indian Community Council and as executive director of the Missoula Indian Center. She serves as chair of both the Montana Community Finance Corporation Board and the Montana Indian Business Alliance.
Ms. Stiffarm’s past affiliations include chair of the Indian Education Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Harlem (MT) Public Schools, and advisory board membership for the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research. Barb was educated at Missoula Vocational Technical College and the University of Montana. She is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe.
