The Research Department's online archive offers all papers and reports published internally since its inception. Many documents in this archive are in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) and PostScript (.ps) file formats. You can obtain free Adobe Acrobat Reader software for a variety of platforms directly from Adobe.

Paper copies of these Research documents might be available in your local library.

Recent research
An academic journal that primarily presents economic research aimed at improving policymaking by the Federal Reserve System and other governmental authorities. The Quarterly Review will be published on a reduced schedule starting in 2004.
A series of academic research papers written by economists affiliated with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. All Staff Reports are available.
Early drafts of academic research papers written by economists affiliated with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Not all of these are available to the public. Many Working Papers later become Staff Reports.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Annual Report is published each spring in The Region magazine and includes an essay on a public policy issue.

 

Historical research
Similar to Working Papers, except related to the Institute of Empirical Macroeconomics of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Published until 1966 and summarizes Ninth District economic conditions. Issues from 1921-1966 are available.
A monthly release of economic data and statistics. It replaced the Monthly Review and began in 1967 and ended in 1974.
The direct ancestor of the Quarterly Review. Earlier publications focused on reporting economic conditions of the district; this publication introduced policy research for the first time. Publication spanned 1974-1977.
Collections of papers compiled for conferences or seminars.
