Supervision

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis supports the Federal Reserve System mission to promote a safe, sound, accessible banking system and stable financial markets through supervision and regulation of the nation's banking, financial, and payment systems and through effective implementation of statutes designed to inform and protect the consumer. At the Minneapolis Fed, trained examiners and analysts in the Division of Supervision, Regulation, and Credit supervise and regulate the activities of Ninth District bank and financial holding companies, their nonbank subsidiaries, and state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System. In addition to monitoring the financial condition of these institutions, examiners also review compliance with federal laws and Federal Reserve regulations and seek corrective action when unsatisfactory conditions are found.

Agencies and Regulators

The Minneapolis Fed also works with other federal and state agencies and regulators to promote safety and soundness in the operation of the financial industry and fair and equitable treatment of consumers in their financial transactions.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has developed procedures for a state member bank, bank holding company, or financial holding
